SOCIAL DESIGN PROJECT



When reflecting on my values, I immediately think of my parents, both immigrants who came to the United States in search of better opportunities, much like countless others. Our project began with our professor prompting us to select a movement close to our hearts. For me, it was immigration. If our movement were to come to life, what would it entail?

Throughout this project, we delved into researching the movement and its key players, including presidential administrations, ICE, families, and communities. How would we devise our deliverables? Creating an identity to be displayed on posters, t-shirts, and buttons was our aim. Our objective was to craft something that would capture the attention of our audience and amplify our cause—a cause advocating for those whose voices often go unheard, silenced by the looming threat of deportation.

The initial images presented above marked my initial attempt at the project. Upon reviewing them, I felt dissatisfied with the outcomes. I decided to return to square one, eager to infuse more of my personal style and inject a broader spectrum of colors than the limited palette I initially employed. Additionally, I aimed to communicate my message using a typeface that exuded a sense of urgency, signaling a call to action.

Ultimately, the outcome was something I found satisfaction in, although with the acknowledgment that further refinement could have been achieved given more time. In conclusion, my deliverables comprised the following
