OVERVIEW
If you’ve ever been to Mount Bonnell located in Austin, TX, it’s safe to say it lacks a sense of identity. This project tackles the challenges and opportunities that are presented at this beautiful sight seeing location. Discovering along the way a fun and interesting psychedelic approach to branding a fan-favorite spot in the heart of the city of Austin.

THE CHALLENGE


the task for this assignment was to update the identity of Mount Bonnell, a fan favorite location for beautiful sightseeing in Austin, Texas. with research and investigation, I proposed a new approach to on-site interaction and a proposition of an identity that would allow the community of all ages to interact and discover. 

RESEARCH


this research began by discovering the lack of a website and social media platform involvement for Mount Bonnell. how would visitors be informed of any events? or closures? secondly, when visiting the site and speaking with visitors their main concern was the interaction with the site itself. “nothing to do” was the main point guest noted.

SOLUTION


the solution was one that would help build a unique brand identity that fit well with what Austin stood for. Building on the engagement on site and off site through social media was the answer.

︎ an onsite activity bag where visitors could purchase the entirety of the package or individual items like bags, t-shirts,water bottles etc. Through the distribution of an asseciable and easy to manage vending machine
    

︎ this would come to life off-site by ramping up their social media platforms. Doing so with graphics, reels and stories would engage all the age demographics who may rely on social media for the spread of information.  










︎afterwards, my proposal for this opportunity was driven by the identity I wanted to focus this task on.

and so I began making the starting elements that I could possibly explore.


I knew I wanted to continue in this direction and so I began working on the deliverables for the merchandise and possible instagram post for the social media aspect of the assignment.

In the end I created a keepsakes that fitted the style I was aiming for, I included history I researched, (from the beginning process) which would educate guests of the discovery of Mount Bonnell. as well as a fun scavenger hunt, 10 reasons to visit mount bonnell (taken from their original website) and  a sticker packet to keep visitors engaged and excited while visiting.
